Tamim Iqbal will not play T20 World Cup

Tamim Iqbal’s name out of the T20 World Cup squad has created a sensation in the cricket circles.

Tamim Iqbal is a very well known name of Bangladesh cricket team. Tamim Iqbal told the reporter on Wednesday that he is withdrawing his name for the T20 World Cup to give a chance to other players. “I dropped my name from the national team that will represent Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup”. He said that he does not think that he should be included in the World Cup squad.

Mainly he said that he is not available for the World Cup. Tamim Iqbal released a video on a social media platform saying that he will not be able to play in the T20 World Cup due to his knee injury. And he will not be available for the national team which is going to represent Bangladesh in T20 World Cup.

From the month of March last year till now, Tamim Iqbal has not played any T20 International match of any kind. And the Test match series between Bangladesh and Australia was also missed by Tamim Iqbal.

Tamim Iqbal was also dropped from the T20 series between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the same time.

He further said that he thinks that he will be fully fit to play in the World Cup which starts in United Arab Emirates from October 17. But he also said in this that he feels that it will be very unfortunate for the last 15 to 16 matches he has not played and the players who are playing in his place.

He said that “he can join the squad but it might be unfortunate for those players”

The 32-year-old opener and the shining star of the Bangladesh cricket team, Tamim Iqbal, made a video revealing that he had discussed his decision with the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief selector and chief selector Minjahul Abedin. And he told that he does not think that he will be able to join the World Cup team right now.

He told that, it is not that he does not want to play T20 World Cup but he is not yet physically fit enough to play T20 World Cup. Therefore, he requested the chief selector to remove his name from the national cricket team that is representing Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup.

Tamim Iqbal is currently the captain of the Bangladesh team in the ODI format and he first played his first match in ODI in 2007.

He also served as the vice-captain of the Bangladesh team in 2010 and 2011.

Tamim Iqbal’s mother’s family was from Salimpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Tamim’s brothers Akram and Nafees have both played for Bangladesh cricket team.
