World Cup opening ceremony

World Cup Opening Ceremony: The ICC World Cup 2023 is just around the corner, and it’s gearing up to be an exciting event. Before the England vs. New Zealand opening match, which is a rematch of the last edition’s final, there’s going to be a spectacular opening ceremony on October 4th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. October 4th has been declared Captains’ Day, and the grand show is scheduled for 7 PM IST. The BCCI has brought together some well-known Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh, talented singers Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh, and the legendary Asha Bhosle to make the World Cup opening ceremony unforgettable.

In addition to the star-studded performances, there will be a dazzling laser show, breathtaking fireworks, and a celebration of India’s rich heritage. Captains from all 10 teams will be in attendance to mark the occasion. Fans who have tickets for the England vs. New Zealand opening match will also get the chance to be a part of this exciting ceremony.

Preparations are in full gear

Getting Ready for the Big Day:

In anticipation of the big day, preparations for the event are in full swing. The stage is all setup, and rehearsals are underway.

Before the grand opening, all 10 team captains are scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad on October 3. However, because India is playing against the Netherlands in a warm-up match on the same day, most captains, including Rohit Sharma, will arrive on the morning of October 4.

Instead of having the World Cup opening ceremony on the same day as the first match, it’s been moved a day earlier. Since the matches start at 2 PM IST, there isn’t enough time for such an event on the same day. Plus, fireworks and laser shows are best enjoyed when it’s dark outside.

In addition to the fans, high-ranking officials from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the BCCI will also be present. Both organizations plan to invite top administrators from all cricket boards to attend the event.
